Celebrate World Poetry Day with us and get ready for a fun-filled celebration of poetry, stories and laughter with acclaimed children's poet and performer Paul Lyalls. Drawing on poems from his much-loved collection A Funny Thing Happened, Paul brings words to life through an exciting mix of humour, rhythm, storytelling and audience interaction.
Whether you're a poetry lover or just looking for a brilliant family event, this lively performance will inspire creativity, spark imaginations, and leave you smiling. Suitable for children, parents, grandparents, and anyone who enjoys a good laugh.
Bio:
Paul Lyalls is an award-winning children's poet, performer, and workshop leader. A former Poet in Residence at the Roald Dahl Museum, Arsenal FC Community Poet and London 2012 Olympic Poet, he has visited over 500 schools and appeared on the BBC/CBBC's The Big Slam Poetry House. His work features in Michael Rosen's A-Z of the Very Best Children's Poetry, and Michael Rosen describes him as "a kind of magic that makes you see the world." His latest book is Words Are Frogs (2025).
